On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Archives of Yugoslavia (21 January 1950) was ceremonially marked. Numerous distinguished guests attended the anniversary celebration, including Prof. Dr Dejan Antić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and envoy of the Minister of Culture; General Predrag Bandić, Assistant Minister of Defence for Defence Policy and envoy of the Minister of Defence; Prof. Dr Aleksandar Rastović, President of the Managing Board of the Archives of Yugoslavia; ambassadors of Algeria, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Cambodia, Palestine, Tunisia and Spain; chargés d’affaires of Mexico, India, Iraq, Myanmar and Poland; deputy heads of mission of Belgium, Canada, Slovenia and the Netherlands; representatives of the embassies of Bulgaria, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Germany, Russia, France and Montenegro; as well as directors and representatives of numerous cultural, scientific, academic and educational institutions, and other guests.
The gathering was addressed by the Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia, Dr Milan Terzić, who presented the institution’s activities planned for 2026, with special emphasis on the work of the departments for the Protection and Use of Archival Records, Arrangement and Processing of Archival Materials, and Publication of Archival Materials, as well as the General Department.
After the formal proceedings concluded, the guests continued their gathering at a reception with refreshments.
