1917 - Sun of the Foreign Sky: Immigration from Yugoslavia into Canada 1924-1930

The exhibition Sun of the Foreign Sky: Immigration from Yugoslavia into Canada 1924-1930 was opened on August 22, 2017 in the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. The author of the exhibition is Milovan Mračević. Predrag Krejić, Archival Advisor in the Archives of Yugoslavia opened the exhibition. Motive for exhibition was 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation 1867-2017 marked by immigrants from various European countries. Experience of 25000 immigrants from Yugoslavia being part of the hugest European wave of immigrants into Canada before the Second World War was presented. Photographs and documents at the exhibition have been collected by the author during his year’s long historic research of immigration into this country. Archival material of the Fond AJ-420 (General Consulate of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in Montreal) preserved in the Archives of Yugoslavia was used.
