On its 65 Anniversary, Archives of Yugoslavia opened exhibition of documents Nikolai Krasnov – Russian Builder of Serbia that was mutual project of the Archives of Yugoslavia and Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora from Moscow with participation of the Historical Archives of Belgrade. Assistant to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandra Fulgosi opened the exhibition. H.E. Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia, Alexander Chepurin addressed the audience as well as Victor Moskvin, Director of Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora from Moscow and Acting Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia, Miladin Milošević.
This event was attended by numerous guests, representatives of diplomatic corpse in the Republic of Serbia from Algeria, Belarus, Iraq, Iran, Indonesia, Cuba, Morocco, Germany as well as persons from the cultural and scientific establishment. Marking the birth of the Russian architect Nikolai Krasnov ( 5.XII.1864, Honatni, Moscow, Russia – 8.XII 1939, Belgrade, The Kingdom of Yugoslavia)by the exhibition of documents Nikolai Krasnov – Russian Builder of Serbia through archival material and original documents, Krasnov’s fruitful creative architectural work in the Kingdom of SCS/Yugoslavia was presented. Exhibition was a matter of year’s long successful cooperation between the Archives of Yugoslavia and Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora from Moscow. Historical Archives of Belgrade took part in realization of the exhibition and other national institutions participated also, by submitting documents from their collections that they preserve in their depots, dealing with the activity of Nikolai Krasnov – Archives of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Museum of Serbian Orthodox Church, Museum of Science and Technology, National Library of Serbia, the King Peter I Foundation. Very rich photograph library from private collections - collection of Miloš Jurišić as well as family inheritance of the architect Jezdimir Denić, collaborator of architect Nikolai Krasnov were used. This exhibition presented over 250 exhibits, designs, sketches, drawings, preliminary designs, most of them original. For the first time original documentation preserved in the Archives of Yugoslavia and the Historical Archives of Belgrade was shown to the public.
The authors of the exhibition Milan Medaković and Ranka Rađenović from the Archives of Yugoslavia, Đurđija Borovnjak from Historical Archives of Belgrade in cooperation with Julia Gudovič and Tatjana Iriharhova from Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora prepared bilingual Serbian-Russian catalogue printed by Solzhenitsyn House for the Russian Diaspora. The Archives of Yugoslavia prepared trilingual, Serbian-Russian-English multimedia DVD presentation which was expanded version of the printed edition of the exhibition catalogue prepared by the authors.
